Is Indian Celebrities' Lacking behind in their Social Responsibility?

 As an audience, we all know-how and what impact our celebrities and public figures personality play in our life. They have the absolute power to influence our choices our decision and our career choices which we gonna made in the future.


From being influencing on our dressing sense to influencing decision which we took to make society better for the next generation to engage our voice for the right things. Sometimes these influences can be positive as well as negative because it always depends on the other people how he/she perceived things and in which manner.

And this influence quotient is very much higher in Indian society in comparison to western society. In Indian society, people followed their superstar or super celebrity like a God, from inking their names or inking their portraits on their body or acting on their action whether is an aggressive action on social media or somewhere else or polite action.


Somehow I have realized that our Indian celebrities play a very neutral role when it's come to Social Responsibility (in terms of government and society) especially when it's not related to their ART (cinema, music, or something else). They are very picky in this case, in which matter they wanna talk or they can talk and in which matter they don't want to talk or they can't afford it to talk about that matter, they pick it very smartly and safely.

Maybe this is because our society is like that if they talk anything which one community can't take it, it became the big agenda in society and their repercussion reflects in the succeeding of their ART. Maybe because of that fear they don't completely indulge in this arena of society.


Whereas in Western society this whole scenario is very different, they take full participants in whatever happens in the society whether is the "Black live Matter" campaign or whether it's about "Rights" or taking a stand against Donald Trump. All celebrities from Musician, Singer, Actor to Author everyone raise their voices.

From Beyonce, Lady Gaga to Taylor Swift and Halsey. From Ruby Rose to Christian Stewart everyone takes the stands especially in the time of US Election 2020, where they all came against Trump and openly supported Biden and Harris and also encourage their fans to go to vote and takes the right stand. And today we all know the result!! America is Celebrating.


Can you imagine this situation in India where our celebrities took a stand against Modi or Rahul Gandhi?? I am sure you will say this is difficult, I know it is but not impossible.

One day they will take a stand against all odds like Swara Bhaskar, Anurag Kashyap, and others in all matters whether it's the case of "Communal riots between Hindu and Muslim" or the case of "Our Economic Situation".

Well, we can only hope for the best and expect that this neutrality will be end soon and they will take the stand for what is right and wrong and stood by the society and the youth and will make a better society for the coming generation.
