I Would Leave Me If I Could: Halsey a Singer, Songwriter and Activist

Halsey aka Ashley Nicolette Frangipane is an American singer, songwriter, and activist. She started her journey as a young YouTuber by covering the songs of Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber, and other signers. She also wrote and sing her song on YouTube.  Her first single “Ghost” was re-launched in 2014 for her debut studio album.

Her personal life was full of internal and external hurdles like all of us but she didn’t give up at any point of time in her journey rather she determined to fight back against all odds.

She was bullied every time during her childhood dealing with mental health. In an interview, she also revealed that she’s been always struggling with making friends. Her home life was also chaotic. Facing all of these situations, at the age of 17 she got to know that she is suffering from “Bipolar Disorder”, she attempted suicide because of all the things she was facing whether it’s her family situation, physical situation, or her disorder.

During higher education she decide to leave college because she thinks that it was a wastage of time therefore she left the community college, this was the main incident when she faced total disagreement from her parents. They were so upset that they asked her to leave the house.

This was the beginning of her journey of being “Halsey” but the journey wasn’t easy at all, she was homeless without any penny. During this time she didn’t have a penny for food and drink, she spends many nights on the street with the Red Bull to stay awake to not get raped.

During this phase, she lived in the street of Halsey from where she got her stage name. From here she started focusing on her poetic skills and acknowledged her ability to write and sing. She started penning down her thoughts, emotions, and herself in her poems.

During her stage performance in 2016 she got to know that she is pregnant, trying to figure out the next move she experienced a miscarriage during the performance and complete her performance by wearing pads. She was regularly being hospitalized because of dehydration from here she started working on her health and started giving importance to her physical health and realized how much it is important to give rest to your body.

In November 2020 she launched her first book “I Would Leave Me If I Could: A collection of Poetry”. She wrote about her journey, her relationship, her love, and breaks-up & patch-up every emotion of her in the book.

She has always been very much open about her mental health for supporting people to deal with the circumstance. She has always been vocal about what she believes on daily basis. She always used her social media platform for advocating issues she cares about from LGBTQ representation to America’s immigration policy.

Being facing lots of tragedy and hardship she didn’t give up but what about us?? I’m sure many of us show the never-give-up attitude but deep down not even facing a real hardship we feel so depressed and disheartening when a challenge came up. They tried to see the challenge through magnifying glasses rather focusing on the solution.

I know at present we all facing various challenges and hardships such as financial problems, relationships, family issues, friendship issue, no employment, mental exhaustion, and etc. but don’t give up at any point and have patience and courage to face it. You will be never realized your true worth if you gave up on these big and small challenges and hardships. This is your journey own it and live it, enjoy and embrace every moment and every challenge of it.

Being 26 today Hasley didn’t give at that point of time not even now she is embracing her life serving society, embracing her potential of singer, songwriter, tattoo artist, painter, and now writer too. One day you will too touch the height of success I am sure, so don’t give put everything in your dreams all sweat and blood.

Financial Independence And Women

Why financial independence is important for women? I asked why not?? Yes financial independence is important for all regardless of men and women, but in our patriarchal society where men's have all the rights to do things, where men's are the sole decision-maker in the house, women's did not have the basic rights to do things (what to wear what to not, where to spend money where to not, buy something, which job we should do or we shouldn't etc.) they have to take permission for all these things. Financial Independence as important as your identity is or we can see financial independence as a tool to define our own identity. Financial independence is as much as important to financial freedom. Whereas Financial freedom is when you can spend money without any kind of constraint or stress. Well yo...
